LayerFilter: Film Description

Enhance images with film-like effects for unique professional finish.

LayerFilter: Film:

The LayerFilter: Film node is designed to enhance your images by applying a variety of film-like effects. This node allows you to simulate the aesthetic qualities of traditional film photography, adding depth, texture, and mood to your digital images. By adjusting parameters such as saturation, vignette intensity, grain, and blur, you can achieve a wide range of visual styles, from vintage looks to modern cinematic effects. The main goal of this node is to provide you with the tools to creatively manipulate your images, giving them a unique and professional finish that stands out.

LayerFilter: Film Input Parameters:

image

This is the input image that you want to apply the film effects to. It serves as the base layer for all subsequent adjustments.

center_x

This parameter sets the x-coordinate for the center of the vignette effect. Adjusting this value will shift the focal point of the vignette horizontally across the image. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, where 0 is the left edge and 1 is the right edge of the image.

center_y

This parameter sets the y-coordinate for the center of the vignette effect. Adjusting this value will shift the focal point of the vignette vertically across the image. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, where 0 is the top edge and 1 is the bottom edge of the image.

saturation

This parameter controls the intensity of the colors in the image. Increasing the saturation will make the colors more vivid, while decreasing it will make the colors more muted. The value typically ranges from 0 (grayscale) to 2 (highly saturated), with a default value of 1.

vignette_intensity

This parameter adjusts the strength of the vignette effect, which darkens the corners of the image to draw attention to the center. The value typically ranges from 0 (no vignette) to 1 (strong vignette), with a default value of 0.5.

grain_power

This parameter controls the intensity of the film grain effect, adding a textured, grainy look to the image. The value typically ranges from 0 (no grain) to 1 (maximum grain), with a default value of 0.5.

grain_scale

This parameter adjusts the size of the film grain particles. Smaller values result in finer grain, while larger values produce coarser grain. The value typically ranges from 0.1 to 10, with a default value of 1.

grain_sat

This parameter controls the saturation of the film grain. Higher values will make the grain more colorful, while lower values will make it more monochromatic. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, with a default value of 0.5.

grain_shadows

This parameter adjusts the intensity of the grain in the shadow areas of the image. Higher values will make the grain more pronounced in darker areas. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, with a default value of 0.5.

grain_highs

This parameter adjusts the intensity of the grain in the highlight areas of the image. Higher values will make the grain more pronounced in lighter areas. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, with a default value of 0.5.

blur_strength

This parameter controls the overall strength of the blur effect applied to the image. The value typically ranges from 0 (no blur) to 1 (maximum blur), with a default value of 0.5.

blur_focus_spread

This parameter adjusts the spread of the blur effect, determining how quickly the blur transitions from the focal point to the rest of the image. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, with a default value of 0.5.

focal_depth

This parameter sets the depth of field for the blur effect, determining which parts of the image remain in focus. The value typically ranges from 0 to 1, with a default value of 0.5.

depth_map

This optional parameter allows you to provide a depth map to control the blur effect more precisely. Areas with higher values in the depth map will be more in focus, while areas with lower values will be more blurred.

LayerFilter: Film Output Parameters:

image

The output is the processed image with all the applied film effects. This image will have enhanced visual qualities such as adjusted saturation, added grain, vignette, and blur, giving it a unique and professional look.

LayerFilter: Film Usage Tips:

  • Experiment with the saturation and vignette_intensity parameters to create different moods in your images. Higher saturation and vignette can give a more dramatic effect.
  • Use the grain_power and grain_scale parameters to simulate different types of film stock, from fine-grain modern films to coarse-grain vintage films.
  • Adjust the blur_strength and focal_depth to create a shallow depth of field effect, which can help to emphasize the subject of your image.

LayerFilter: Film Common Errors and Solutions:

"Invalid image input"

  • Explanation: The input provided is not a valid image.
  • Solution: Ensure that the input is a valid image file and is correctly loaded into the node.

"Parameter out of range"

  • Explanation: One or more parameters are set outside their acceptable ranges.
  • Solution: Check the parameter values and ensure they are within the specified ranges. Adjust any values that are too high or too low.

"Depth map not provided"

  • Explanation: The depth map parameter is required but not provided.
  • Solution: If using the depth map feature, ensure that a valid depth map is provided. If not needed, you can leave this parameter empty.
