LayerFilter: Add Grain Description

Enhance images with grainy texture for organic, film-like quality, adjustable intensity and appearance for artistic expressions.

LayerFilter: Add Grain:

The LayerFilter: AddGrain node is designed to enhance your images by adding a grainy texture, which can give your artwork a more organic and film-like quality. This node is particularly useful for AI artists looking to add a touch of realism or vintage feel to their digital creations. By adjusting the grain power, scale, and saturation, you can control the intensity and appearance of the grain effect, allowing for a wide range of artistic expressions. Whether you want a subtle noise to break the digital perfection or a strong grain to emulate old film stock, this node provides the flexibility to achieve your desired look.

LayerFilter: Add Grain Input Parameters:

image

This parameter accepts the image(s) to which you want to add grain. The input should be in the form of an image tensor.

grain_power

This parameter controls the intensity of the grain effect. A higher value results in more pronounced grain, while a lower value produces a subtler effect. The value ranges from 0 to 1, with a default of 0.5.

grain_scale

This parameter determines the size of the grain particles. Smaller values result in finer grain, while larger values produce coarser grain. The value ranges from 0.1 to 10, with a default of 1.

grain_sat

This parameter adjusts the saturation of the grain. A value of 0 results in grayscale grain, while a value of 1 maintains the original color saturation. The value ranges from 0 to 1, with a default of 1.

LayerFilter: Add Grain Output Parameters:

image

The output is the processed image(s) with the added grain effect. The output is in the form of an image tensor, ready for further processing or final rendering.

LayerFilter: Add Grain Usage Tips:

  • Experiment with different grain_power and grain_scale settings to find the perfect balance for your artwork. For a subtle effect, use lower values; for a more dramatic look, increase these parameters.
  • Use the grain_sat parameter to control the color of the grain. For a classic black-and-white film look, set grain_sat to 0.
  • Combine this node with other filters and effects to create unique textures and styles in your images.

LayerFilter: Add Grain Common Errors and Solutions:

Image tensor dimension mismatch

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the input image tensor does not have the expected dimensions.
  • Solution: Ensure that your input image tensor is correctly formatted and has the appropriate dimensions before passing it to the node.

Invalid grain_power value

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the grain_power value is outside the allowed range (0 to 1).
  • Solution: Adjust the grain_power value to be within the specified range.

Invalid grain_scale value

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the grain_scale value is outside the allowed range (0.1 to 10).
  • Solution: Adjust the grain_scale value to be within the specified range.

Invalid grain_sat value

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the grain_sat value is outside the allowed range (0 to 1).
  • Solution: Adjust the grain_sat value to be within the specified range.
