Fooocus Upscale Description

Enhance image resolution with advanced upscaling for AI artists, maintaining clarity and sharpness efficiently.

Fooocus Upscale:

The Fooocus Upscale node is designed to enhance the resolution of your images, making them larger and more detailed. This node is particularly useful for AI artists who want to upscale their artwork without losing quality. It leverages advanced upscaling techniques to ensure that the enlarged images maintain their original clarity and sharpness. The node can handle various image sizes and offers flexibility in terms of upscaling factors and methods. Whether you need a quick upscale for a preview or a high-quality upscale for final output, Fooocus Upscale provides the tools to achieve your desired results efficiently.

Fooocus Upscale Input Parameters:

pipe

This parameter represents the pipeline used for processing the image. It is a required input and should be set to the appropriate pipeline for your specific use case.

upscale

This parameter determines the factor by which the image will be upscaled. It accepts values of 1.5 or 2.0, with a default value of 1.5. Increasing this value will result in a larger image, but it may also require more processing time and resources.

steps

This parameter specifies the number of steps to be used in the upscaling process. It accepts integer values ranging from 1 to 100, with a default value of 18. Higher values can lead to better quality but will increase processing time.

denoise

This parameter controls the amount of denoising applied during the upscaling process. It accepts floating-point values between 0.00 and 1.00, with a default value of 0.382. Lower values will retain more original details, while higher values will result in a smoother image.

fast

This boolean parameter determines whether the upscaling process should prioritize speed over quality. The default value is False. Setting this to True will speed up the process but may result in lower quality.

image_output

This parameter specifies how the upscaled image should be handled. It offers options such as "Hide," "Preview," "Save," and "Hide/Save," with a default value of "Preview." This allows you to choose whether to display, save, or hide the upscaled image.

save_prefix

This parameter allows you to specify a prefix for the saved image files. The default value is "ComfyUI." This is useful for organizing and identifying your saved images.

Fooocus Upscale Output Parameters:

pipe

This output parameter returns the pipeline used for processing the image. It allows you to continue using the same pipeline for further processing or analysis.

image

This output parameter returns the upscaled image. The image is enhanced in resolution and quality based on the input parameters provided. This is the final output that you can use for display, saving, or further processing.

Fooocus Upscale Usage Tips:

  • For quick previews, set the fast parameter to True to speed up the upscaling process.
  • Use a higher upscale value for final outputs to achieve better quality and larger images.
  • Adjust the denoise parameter to balance between retaining original details and achieving a smoother image.
  • Utilize the image_output parameter to manage how the upscaled image is handled, especially if you need to save or preview the results.

Fooocus Upscale Common Errors and Solutions:

Image is too large. Directly returned the SR image.

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the upscaled image exceeds a certain size threshold, making it too large to process further.
  • Solution: Consider reducing the upscale value or processing the image in smaller sections to avoid exceeding the size limit.

[Upscale] Image is resized because it is too small.

  • Explanation: This message indicates that the input image is too small and has been resized to meet the minimum size requirements for upscaling.
  • Solution: Ensure that your input image meets the minimum size requirements or accept the automatic resizing performed by the node.

OOM_EXCEPTION

  • Explanation: This error occurs when the system runs out of memory during the upscaling process.
  • Solution: Reduce the tile size or upscale smaller images to avoid running out of memory. If the problem persists, consider upgrading your hardware or optimizing your system's memory usage.
