Color Balance Description

Adjust color balance, fine-tune tones, enhance images with flexibility, target tonal ranges, correct color casts, create artistic effects.

Color Balance:

The ColorBalanceNode is a powerful tool designed to adjust the color balance of images, allowing you to fine-tune the color tones in your artwork. This node is particularly useful for enhancing the visual appeal of images by adjusting the balance between cyan-red, magenta-green, and yellow-blue tones. It provides the flexibility to target specific tonal ranges such as midtones, highlights, or shadows, enabling you to achieve the desired mood or effect in your images. By manipulating these color channels, you can correct color casts, enhance certain colors, or create artistic effects, making it an essential tool for AI artists looking to refine their digital creations.

Color Balance Input Parameters:

image

This parameter represents the input image that you want to adjust. It is the starting point for the color balance operation, and the node will apply the specified adjustments to this image.

adjust_type

This parameter allows you to select the tonal range you wish to adjust: midtones, highlights, or shadows. The default option is midtones. Adjusting the midtones affects the middle range of brightness, highlights target the brighter areas, and shadows focus on the darker regions of the image. This selection determines which part of the image will be most affected by the color balance adjustments.

cyan_red

This integer parameter controls the balance between cyan and red tones in the image. It ranges from -100 to 100, with a default value of 0. A negative value increases cyan, while a positive value enhances red. This adjustment can help correct color casts or emphasize certain colors in the image.

magenta_green

This integer parameter adjusts the balance between magenta and green tones. It also ranges from -100 to 100, with a default value of 0. Negative values increase magenta, while positive values enhance green. This can be used to correct color imbalances or to create specific color effects.

yellow_blue

This integer parameter manages the balance between yellow and blue tones, with a range from -100 to 100 and a default value of 0. Negative values increase yellow, while positive values enhance blue. This adjustment is useful for correcting color temperature or achieving a particular artistic look.

Color Balance Output Parameters:

image

The output is the adjusted image with the applied color balance changes. This image reflects the modifications made based on the input parameters, providing a visually enhanced version of the original image. The output image can be used for further processing or as a final product in your creative projects.

Color Balance Usage Tips:

  • Experiment with different adjust_type settings to see how they affect various parts of your image. For instance, adjusting shadows can add depth, while tweaking highlights can make your image more vibrant.
  • Use small increments when adjusting cyan_red, magenta_green, and yellow_blue to avoid over-saturating or washing out colors. Subtle changes can often lead to the most visually pleasing results.

Color Balance Common Errors and Solutions:

Image format not supported

  • Explanation: The input image might not be in a compatible format for processing.
  • Solution: Ensure that the image is in a standard format such as JPEG or PNG before inputting it into the node.

Adjustment values out of range

  • Explanation: The values for cyan_red, magenta_green, or yellow_blue are outside the allowed range of -100 to 100.
  • Solution: Double-check the input values and ensure they fall within the specified range to avoid errors.

Invalid adjust_type selection

  • Explanation: The adjust_type parameter has been set to an unsupported value.
  • Solution: Verify that the adjust_type is set to one of the valid options: midtones, highlights, or shadows.
